Welcome to Shannon's Shanonigins

Well, I've finally done it.  I've finally started a blog.  This is my favorite time of year and it's so beautiful right now  in Colorado.  Fall gives me a new energy, maybe because it's the beginning of the Holiday Season. First is Halloween, that fun holiday that really brings out the kid in all of us.  I love seeing kids all dressed up in their costumes (especially the little ones) and I love throwing Halloween parties.
Then there's Thanksgiving.  I LOVE Thanksgiving!  A holiday all about eating, spending time with loved ones and taking time to count your blessings.  It all ends with pie, so how can you not love Thanksgiving?  Please let me know what you'd like to see in future posts?
I really want this to be the place you go to if you have any questions about Celebrations.
So here we go!
I wish you Joyful Celebrations,
Shannon

  4. I love this season as well but, I feel very inadequate when it comes to hosting holiday parties or get-togethers.
This year my children have informed me that they will be coming for Thanksgiving and bringing boyfriends and guests, I don't know what to do NOW to make sure I'm all set and stress for the day! I want to enjoy them as well as providing a beautiful day for them. I need to know how to prepare for the upcoming Thanksgiving celebration.
I love Halloween and Christmas too but, just never seem to get-it-together in time. What are some of your preparation tricks that you think might help me become more open to hosting any or even all of the holidays?

  7. My Sweet Debbie,
We will take this one step at a time. What makes you feel the most intimidated about hosting your Thanksgiving dinner? I'm so glad your girls are coming home for Thanksgiving. Just being together will make it joyful. One of the best Thanksgiving memories I have is hosting my first Thanksgiving dinner. My mom came over the day before and we cooked the day away. It was so much fun. You may want to do this with your girls (I wish I could be there:). We will take on this Thanksgiving Celebration one challenge at a time, until you feel confident and joyful about your hosting abilities. I will be putting in some fun, easy, and affordable ideas from now until Thanksgiving, so check back often.
